For Older Adults
This gentle outdoor program invites you to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy some peaceful time in your community. We’ll take a guided mindfulness walk through nearby forest trails, using all our senses to notice the sights, sounds, and feelings around us.
The experience is flexible and can be done at your own pace - participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable. The session will include a mix of guided activities, quiet moments for personal reflection, and opportunities to connect with others. No special equipment or experience needed - just comfortable shoes and an openness to being outdoors.
Route Info: The walking route we will follow is approximately 4km in length, with sections of gravel and/or uneven terrain. The route is considered easy and mostly flat. See a Google Map of the route here.
This program is being offered at multiple locations and the activities will be the same. Please register for only one program.
Photography Notice: Please note that photographs and videos may be taken at this event and may be broadcast, reproduced, and/or made available in print or online. For individual or small group photos, staff will make attendees aware of their presence and will ask permission before taking photos.

The McCormick Branch is nestled in the heart of the Lakeshore neighbourhood, providing exciting resources to its residents. The second oldest of Waterloo Public Library’s locations, the McCormick Branch is small but mighty and is part of the Albert McCormick Community Centre which features a large outdoor play area, splash pad and skate park.
