If you’re a fan of stand-up comedy, join us for Kamau Bell’s insightful documentary about Chris Rock’s groundbreaking 1996 special Bring the Pain. This film explores how Rock’s bold and fearless performance reshaped the comedy landscape and sparked vital conversations about race and representation in popular culture.
This screening invites those open to engaging with complex societal topics from multiple perspectives. Popcorn will be available to enjoy, and after the film, we’ll host a short, participant-led circle discussion where you can share your thoughts or simply listen in.
Doors open at 6:15pm, and we press Play at 6:30pm sharp.
