For Adults
This Book Chat will take a look at Dystopian Fiction, including major titles, themes, and subgenres. Learn about how it started, how it has evolved, and why it is thriving, even (or especially) during periods of political instability. This Book Chat is appropriate for long-time fans and newcomers to Dystopian Fiction. Come ready to learn and join in the discussion!
If you love reading, discussing books, and discovering new titles, Book Chats is the perfect place for you. This series offers a welcoming space to explore a variety of genres, revisit old favourites, and hear fresh recommendations from fellow readers and WPL staff. Participate however feels comfortable - whether you read the suggested titles ahead of time and join the conversation, or simply listen and gather ideas for your next great read. Along the way, you’ll learn tips for finding books you’ll love, discover read-alike strategies, and explore special topics such as book awards and trending titles.
