For tweens ages 8 to 12 years old.
Budding tween artists are invited to join us for this 3-part series, where you get to fill our gallery space with your art...with a twist!
Each week in the series will be dedicated to a different stage of the artistic process:
Week 1 (Wednesday, October 14): Learn about artistic styles and get inspired while developing our own works of art. At the end of the class, we'll send your art pieces to our parallel Artists in Residence program, where Older Adults will add their own flair to your work!
Week 2 (Wednesday, October 21): You'll work on the art sent to us from the Older Adults, adding your own flair and special touches!
Week 3 (Wednesday November 4): We'll showcase our collaborative art during an Intergenerational Gallery Exhibition opening reception with friends and caregivers at the John M. Harper Branch (7-8pm).
Final art pieces from the program will be on display in the Program Room at the John M. Harper Branch for approximately 2 weeks after the final session, after which participants will be able to come pick up their art. Scans can be made of your tween's artwork before it is worked on by another artist - upon request.
No prior artistic or gallery experience is required. All skill levels are welcome.
For tweens ages 8 to 12 years old. Please register each tween attending separately.
Please note, a caregiver must remain in the library while children under 10 years of age attend a program.
This program is part of a series. There are 2 sessions taking place on Wednesdays, October 14 and 21 at the Eastside Branch. The Intergenerational Gallery Exhibition will be held on Wednesday November 4 from 7-8pm at the John M. Harper Branch.
We kindly remind you that registrations will be removed if the registered person does not meet the program’s specified age requirements.
