About the Author
At 82, Dr. Mohamed Elmasry, PhD, FRSC, FIEEE, FCAE, FEIC, Emeritus Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Waterloo, has recently authored and co-authored four important, timely, and popular books about the human brain and recent advances in knowledge about the relationships between Artificial and Real (human) Intelligence. Through neuroscience, lifestyle medicine, and personal memoir, he has drawn on a 50-year career of research into the marvels of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), the building blocks of AI, to explore the human brain, mind, and memory—and most importantly—how we all can reduce dementia risk as we age.
