About the Program
In the next few months, the John M. Harper Branch will be welcoming a new mural by celebrated local artist Luke Swinson. As part of our celebration of Ontario Public Library Week, Luke will be at the library sharing his work and connecting with customers. Stop by the table in the library lobby to meet the artist, learn more about the upcoming project, and share your thoughts, stories, and experiences of the library to inspire the mural design.
About the Artist
Luke Swinson is an illustrator and muralist based in Kitchener, Ontario, whose work is rooted in his Indigenous heritage as a member of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation. With a focus on cultural education and preservation, Luke’s art serves as a personal exploration and reclamation of his heritage. Through his vibrant, thought-provoking pieces, he hopes to inspire younger generations to connect with their roots and the natural world. You can learn more about Luke’s work on his website.
