About the Program
How can we tell what’s true online—and what isn’t—especially in a world shaped by artificial intelligence? In this introductory program for older adults, we’ll explore how information is created and shared online, and what it means when something is misleading or false.
We’ll look at how social media feeds are shaped, what bots are, how algorithms influence what we see, and how to start recognizing reliable sources. You’ll leave with simple, practical tips to help you feel more confident navigating online information.
Looking to go a step further? Join us next week (July 15) for Fact Check: Credible Images and Deepfakes, where we’ll take a closer look at how to evaluate images and spot AI‑generated content.
