Research indicates the global provision of quality physical education which is in a position to provide children and youth with a foundation of healthy behaviours is in decline. Often marginalized and misunderstood, physical education provides opportunities for all students to experience the joy of physical movement. This presentation will bring to light the importance of the development physical literacy in schools and at home.
Anne Facey teaches Physical Education and Health in the Faculty of Education and serves as a field supervisor for teacher Candidates. As recent graduate of the Master of Education program at Laurier, she is interested in the promotion of Healthy Active Lifestyles in the education system.
