Meet Outhoumphonh (Linda) Vongkhamchanh and Tim Goodwin, the owners of Champa Kitchen which opened in July 2021. Linda immigrated to Canada from Laos in 2001 at age 14 and met her husband and partner, Tim, while studying business at Conestoga college. They love making and sharing food and often hosted large meals for friends in their home. When Linda’s hospitality working hours were reduced during the pandemic, the pair decided to start their own catering business, and then to open their restaurant. Champa Kitchen serves Thai, Lao and Vietnamese dishes made from scratch. Sample some of their food as Linda and Tim share the story of their bold business!
Bold Business is our newest program series that celebrates local business and entrepreneurship in Waterloo. This series is presented in partnership with the Uptown BIA. This session will be a presentation by Tim & Linda of Champa Kitchen, followed by a Q&A hosted by Tracy Van Kalsbeek of the BIA. Library staff will be available to share business resources available with your library card.
The event will be held at Champa Kitchen, at 21 King St. N. in Uptown Waterloo and advance registration is required. Note that this location is not at street level – there is a step at the entrance.
