Human zoo exhibits were popular in nineteenth-century Europe. The exhibits were documented in thousands of photographs and postcards. This talk summarizes a research trip to Austria and Germany in search of human zoo postcards. During the talk, opportunities will be offered to read and translate postcard messages written in German, French, Spanish and Arabic.
